Cabo San Lucas once was known as the singles vacation destination but over the last couple decades it has become a perfect getaway for families. World class resorts offer villas with separate bedrooms so both the kids and parents can have some privacy and then the pool area is a central location for all the on-site family activities. Outside of the resorts, some of the best Cabo San Lucas activities are family friendly.

Accommodations: Choose your resort wisely when planning a Cabo vacation.  When reserving a villa, ask if there is at least a mini-kitchen where you can do some cooking and lunch packing of your own to cut down on costs. An extra amenity to look for is an en-suite washer and dryer to keep everyone’s clothes clean and reduce the amount of packing necessary for the trip.

Activities at the resort: Activities in Cabo San Lucas range from toddler friendly to adult only and you don’t want to wind up at a resort where nothing is planned for the kids. Look for accommodations like the Villa Del Palmar or Villa Del Arco that have regular on-site activities scheduled that are geared towards your kids’ age group. You will find things like Mexican bingo, arts and crafts, and pool games to be some of the most popular for the entire family.

Local activities: There are never a shortage of activities in Cabo San Lucas. Families can enjoy simple adventures like a glass bottom boat tour, sunbathing on Lover’s Beach by the famous Arch, or even renting waverunners at the beach. Some more adventurous activities include parasailing, canopy tours, and ATV rentals depending on the age of your kids. There are plenty of educational opportunities around as well. You can visit one of the many natural reserves, learn about sea life up close and personal, or even visit native villages to learn about the history of Baja. A quality family friendly resort will be able to help you plan all of your activities in advance and make sure they are age appropriate for your children.
